Itinerary
Arrival to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. You will be greeted by our Representative and you will be transferred by a luxury coach to your hotel. Free day for you to discover the wonderful Metropolis Athens is in our times
A little of history: Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. Athens dominates the Attica region and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years and its earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th Millennium BC.
Classical Athens was a powerful city-state that emerged in conjunction with the seagoing development of the port of Piraeus, which had been a distinct city prior to its 5th century BC incorporation with Athens. A center for the Arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, it is widely referred to as the cradle of western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, largely because of its cultural and political impact on the European Continent, and the Romans. In modern times, Athens is a large Cosmopolitan Metropolis and Central to Economic, Financial, Industrial, Maritime, Political and Cultural life in Greece.
Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight stay at Athens.
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for the Athens city tour. We will take you to see the Parliament, a beautiful building in the heart of the city with the Monument of the Unknown Soldier below. Presidential guardsmen in their beautiful traditional costumes, worn during the Greek revolution against the Ottoman Empire in 1821, guard the monument day and night. After that, you will be taken in front of the Presidential residence and you will visit the Panathenian Stadium, or “Kallimarmaron (=good marble)”. It is a beautiful stadium, built of pure white Athenian marble taken from the mount Penteli, where the first contemporary Olympic Games were held in 1896. The temple of Apollo and the Gate of Andrianos are your next sight, on the way to the sacred hill of the Acropolis. The Parthenon, the Erechthion and all the other wonderful buildings of classical Greece. After you have finished your visits, famous Plaka awaits! Traditional Athens, delicious traditional food, drinks, shops etc., all for you to enjoy before returning to your hotel. Your day ends early in the evening, full of color, memories and beauty! Right after tour we will enjoy a nice lunch in Athens Centre and we will return back to the hotel for Overnight stay.
After our early morning wake up, we depart with our transfer vehicle to the port of Piraeus – The Biggest port in Greece – for our ferry departure to the White Island of “wings” the cosmopolitan Mykonos.
Mykonos is a grand example of unique Cycladic Architecture set around a picturesque fishing-village bay. Totally whitewashed organic cube-like buildings fit closely together to form a kind of haphazard maze of narrow alley ways and streets. The earthen colors of the bare hills which surround the town's gleaming whiteness is set between the aura of an incredibly blue sky and even deeper blue sparkling sea. Its many well preserved windmills and hundreds of tiny red-roofed churches adds a flavor of culture and custom to the scene, enhanced even further by many museums and the historical ancient site of Delos. Together with being friendly and open people, the locals have a healthy understanding of what it means to have a good time. Put this together with all the island's other qualities and it is no wonder Mykonos has been often named "the jewel" of the Aegean Sea.
Check in to Hotel, Dinner at Indian restaurant & Overnight stay at the Hotel.
We will depart in the morning from your hotel to enjoy the four (4) hour tour around the island from a different point of view, full of traditional and authentic images and experiences.
Our first stop will be the picturesque small port of St. Ioannis. The small port in front of us is the starting point of the local fishing boats which are protected here from the island's strong north winds.
Right afterwards we will depart towards the Ano Mera village's colorful square, where one of the island's two monasteries is located ("Panagia Tourliani") and we will be guided through its chambers. You can also take a glimpse at the nearby open air market with vegetables and other local products before our departure from the village.
As we continue our tour, we will be passing by some of the most distant beaches of Mykonos, named "Kalo Livadi", "Kalafati" and "Aghia Anna" where we will have a short photo stop.
Right after, we will proceed to a very well-known site where almost all the island's visitors have made a stop, in order to capture a panoramic Mykonos Town photo shooting.
Following the picture taking we will drive you to Mykonos Town for a short walking tour.
Our tour will start at the well-known location of "Remezzo" close to the old port and we will be headed to "Paraportiani", the church which is considered the island's symbol and walk along its magnificent waterfront full of small shops and traditional coffee shops and ouzo bars and clubs.
After being guided in the "Paraportiani" magnificent church, we will see the Castle, the Small Venice and Alefkandra area, the Metropolitan Church and the breathtaking unique windmills of the island.
We will follow the crowded cosmopolitan small streets of Matoyiannia where we will stroll through the narrow streets with the numerous international level fashion houses.
Having being satisfied by capturing all this unique experience, we will return to the old port where you will board our transfer bus to take you to your hotel. Dinner at Indian restaurant
